LANZAROTE LOCAL MARKETS

Traditionals and farmers markets

Exploring Lanzarote’s markets is one of the best ways to experience the island like a local. From colorful traditional stalls to farmers’ markets filled with fresh produce, each market reflects the island’s culture, flavors, and community spirit.

  • The most famous is the Teguise Market, held every Sunday in the island’s former capital, where local crafts, food, and art come together in a lively atmosphere.
  • If you prefer something smaller and more authentic, don’t miss the Haría Market on Saturdays, set in the charming main square of this northern village.
  • In Arrecife, the island’s capital, you’ll find markets on Saturdays in Plaza de las Palmas and during the week in the Charco de San Ginés area, combining shopping with a stroll along the seafront.
  • For those staying in the south, the Playa Blanca Market at Marina Rubicón takes place on Wednesdays and Saturdays, offering handicrafts, jewelry, and souvenirs in a picturesque marina setting.
  • Meanwhile, Costa Teguise hosts several markets in its Pueblo Marinero, from agricultural to artisan and commercial fairs spread across the week.
  • Other villages also preserve this tradition: the Uga Market (weekends), the Mancha Blanca Farmers’ Market (Sundays), the San Bartolomé Market (first Sunday of each month), the Playa Honda Market (third Saturday of the month), and the Puerto Calero Market (Tuesdays and Fridays).

Wherever you are on the island, a visit to one of these markets is the perfect opportunity to taste Lanzarote’s local products, discover unique handicrafts, and immerse yourself in the everyday life of the island.
